Advanced Certification in Wealth Management (ACWM)

You have completed your degree, or you are about to. You are interested in finance.

But no one has clearly shown you how to start a real career in Wealth Management.

Should you do an MBA?
Should you prepare for banking exams?
Should you take up any finance job and learn later?

Or should you first build the skills that the BFSI industry actually expects?
That is exactly where the Advanced Certification in Wealth Management (ACWM) comes in.
ACWM is a 6-month industry-integrated career program by ICOFP, backed by the Bajaj Capital
legacy, designed for serious candidates who want to build careers in Wealth Management, Financial Planning and BFSI.

It brings together ~190 hours of specialist training, practical wealth management learning, corporate readiness, internship exposure for eligible candidates and placement-oriented career support.

This is not just a course. It is a structured route to help you move from interest in finance to career readiness in Wealth Management.

Backed by the Bajaj Capital Legacy

For more than six decades, Bajaj Capital has been associated with financial services, investment distribution and wealth advisory in India.

ICOFP, as part of this larger ecosystem, brings that industry understanding into the classroom. For students, this means the program is not built in isolation from the real market.

For parents, it brings an additional layer of trust, continuity and institutional credibility.

ACWM is designed with one clear objective: to prepare candidates not only to enter the BFSI industry, but to understand how to perform and excel.

Why Wealth Management, Why Now?

India's wealth management industry is entering a defining growth phase.

Rising affluence, wider investing participation, expanding client sophistication and digital transformation are changing the way Indians manage money. Wealth is no longer restricted to a few metro cities. Industry discussions reported by Hubbis note that wealth creation is expanding beyond Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, with Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities driving faster incremental growth. The same report notes that assets under management in India’s wealth sector are projected to double within five years, while the number of wealthy clients is expected to rise by 50% in four years.

Globally too, the asset and wealth management industry is expected to grow significantly. PwC projects global assets under management to rise from US$139 trillion to US$200 trillion by 2030. This shows that wealth and asset management is not only growing in India, but is also becoming a major global opportunity.

For India, this means one clear thing: the demand for trained wealth management professionals is only getting stronger.

Clients today need guidance on mutual funds, insurance, retirement, tax planning, portfolio construction, risk management and long-term wealth creation. But they do not need product sellers alone. They need professionals who can understand financial products, explain them clearly, build trust and offer client-focused guidance.

That is why Wealth Management is becoming one of the most promising career spaces for young finance aspirants. And that is where a structured program like ACWM can make a real difference.

The Real Problem: Degrees Are Not Enough

Many graduates want to enter finance, but struggle when they face the real world of BFSI. The challenge is rarely lack of intelligence. The challenge is lack of practical readiness. Most students are not trained to:

• explain financial products in simple language

• understand client goals and concerns

• speak confidently in interviews • handle sales and advisory conversations

• connect concepts with real financial situations

• work in a professional, target-driven environment

• build trust with clients and managers

A degree may give you eligibility. Skills give you confidence. Practical training gives you direction. ACWM is designed to bridge this gap.

Introducing ACWM

Curriculum Framework

ACWM is built on a concept-to-application model. The goal is not only to teach finance, but to help students understand how finance is used in real client and business situations.

1. Personal Financial Management

Students learn how individuals and families think about income, expenses, savings, goals, protection and financial decisions. This builds the foundation for client-oriented financial planning and helps students understand how real financial conversations begin.

2. Investment Planning and Asset Management

Students understand asset classes, investment products, risk-return behaviour and portfolio suitability. The focus is on practical investment understanding, not just definitions.

3. Mutual Funds

Students learn mutual fund concepts, fund categories, suitability, distribution orientation and investor communication. This is an important area for anyone entering Wealth Management or investment distribution.

4. Portfolio Management

Students learn diversification, asset allocation, portfolio construction and performance review. The objective is to understand how wealth professionals think about client portfolios.

5. Retirement Planning

Students understand retirement goals, future income needs and long-term planning requirements. This helps candidates appreciate one of the most important areas of client advisory.

6. Tax Planning

Students learn basic tax implications of investments and how tax awareness supports better financial decisions. The approach remains practical and student-friendly.

7. Risk Planning and Insurance

Students understand protection needs, risk identification and the role of insurance in a financial plan. This helps them see insurance as part of holistic financial planning.

8. Broker Qualified Person

Students receive learning exposure linked to the Broker Qualified Person requirement in insurance broking. A Broker Qualified Person is an employee or director of an insurance broker engaged in solicitation and procurement of insurance business, who has undergone the required training and passed the specified examination. This helps students understand the regulatory and professional foundation required for insurance broking roles.

9. Corporate Readiness and Communication Development

Students work on communication, grooming, professional behaviour, interview readiness, sales conversations, objection handling and workplace discipline. This is where the program moves from learning finance to becoming employable in finance.

Certification-Oriented Learning Exposure

ACWM includes learning exposure aligned with important BFSI and Wealth Management certifications. The course is designed to help students build the required academic and practical foundation and become eligible to appear for relevant certification examinations, wherever applicable.
